Venue Spotlight

French Meadow Bakery and Café began in 1985 as the first certified organic bread bakery in the USA.  Walking in, we were greeted by a huge chalk board full of delicious natural, local, organic food — including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan choices.  The selection of pastries on display made our mouths water.

 Naturally, seeing  the coffee bar, we ordered our mochas and met up with Janel, the Event Coordinator.  Connected to French Meadow Bakery are multiple unique spaces- The Nord Tasting Room, Nord Social Hall, and The Patio.  Janel took us on a tour of each room/area. 

Nord Tasting Room

The Nord Room was voted as one of the ‘10 Best Places for A Rehearsal Dinner in Minnesota’ by Forever Bride.  They also boast all 5-star reviews on Yelp and were awarded ‘WeddingWire’s Couples’ Choice Awards’ in 2020.  These  reviews say it all:

“The Nord Room is truly beautiful. The room was clean, and well-lit by artisan light fixtures. The space maintained a comfortable temperature in spite of the cold winter day and the large windows. We had our event during the day and the brick walls and natural light made for great pictures. The buffet food tasted excellent. The beverage service at the tables was appropriately frequent and courteous.

We recommend the Nord Room for small events. If we plan an anniversary lunch or dinner a few years from now, we will definitely check availability at the Nord Room.”- Carl S.

“We live out of town so it was not easy for all communication, but Janel was very accommodating and made it work smoothly for us. Janel recommended our decorator and she was amazing, too. When we arrived at the venue everything looked wonderful. We used the Social Hall for both our ceremony and reception. After the ceremony all the chairs are rearranged. All the staff were very friendly, organized and personable. Overall I am glad the we chose this venue and our memories here is wonderful.”- Anna
